Paleo Green Beans and Omelet

I’ve been currently playing around with the Paleo Diet (aka Caveman Diet), trying to find appealing recipes. Luckily, it hasn’t been too hard because I tend to stay away from starchy foods, and some diary and sugary foods. Nom Nom Paleo is my new favorite website. I decided to make two of its recipes, Braised Green Beans with Tomatoes and Onions and Julia Child’s Rolled Omelet (Thai Style).  This was a no-brainer for me because the two recipes combines a few of my favorite ingredients: tomatoes, green beans, and eggs. Delicious dinner.

Merry Christmas from Postcard Recipes!

Christmas Eve dinners usually comprise of a turkey, a ham, and various sides such as mashed potatoes and yams. And since being here in Germany, I’ve experienced fondue and raclette for Christmas as well. However, this year, I felt like I needed a bit of comfort food, food that I miss and truly enjoy. So I decided to make pan-fried salmon with hoisin sauce, green beans with oyster sauce, and fried wontons with sweet chili sauce. It was almost like being home.

So whatever you may be eating for Christmas, I hope it will be wonderful and delicious. Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!

Where the Magic Happens

For those of you wondering what does my kitchen look like, here are a few images. You can tell right away that it’s a very tiny kitchen. Luckily for me, I’m very space efficient, so I am able to store and use the kitchen easily.


Out of all the things in my kitchen, this is my most favorite utensil (or should I say utensils). It’s basically an 8-in-1, that comes with four measuring spoons, a small mixing bowl, a sifter, a colander, and a large mixing bowl. The best thing is that they all stack in together, which makes for awesome space saving.

It’s a Beautiful Morning…

If I had the time, and if it was a Sunday morning everyday, this is what I would eat for breakfast…

1. free-range egg omelette with diced tomatoes, shredded gouda cheese, and hot sriracha sauce
2. organic sourdough toast with butter and organic strawberry jam
2. bowl of fruit with organic vanilla yogurt
3. organic green tea with organic honey

I try to eat as much organic as I can. The most essential organic products I usually buy are bread, jam, and yogurt because that’s what I consume on a daily basis.
